The POCO brand today unveiled its latest creation - the inexpensive POCO M3 smartphone. The device is promoted with the slogan "More than expected". Is it really so?
How much is POCO M3?
Since we are to receive more than we expected, we should start with the price - on its basis it will be easier for us to assess the specification of the device and make sure whether it actually exceeds our expectations. POCO M3 will be offered for $ 149 or $ 169, depending on whether we choose 64 GB UFS 2.1 or 128 GB UFS 2.2 internal memory.

What does POCO M3 look like?
When it comes to styling - frankly speaking - I expected something more original. Meanwhile, the phone strongly resembles the Cyberpunk model of OnePlus. This is due to the large, dark camera frame, as well as one of the colour versions, POCO Yellow. Yes, it looks attractive, but it reminds me too much of a stronger competitor. The Cool Blue and Power Black variants remain as consolation. The housing is practical, as it is covered with a mat surface ensuring a firm grip.
What is the specification of POCO M3?
The interior of POCO M3 hides the Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 processor with Adreno 610 graphics, supported by 4 GB LPDDR4X RAM. The smartphone has a 6.53-inch Dot Drop display with a resolution of 2340x1080 px, a brightness of 400 nits with a contrast of 1500: 1 and an aspect ratio of 19.5: 9 and Gorilla Glass 3. Eye protection and high comfort of work have been confirmed by the TÜV Rheinland Low Blue certificate Light. POCO M3 has been equipped with a battery with a capacity of up to 6000 mAh with 18 W charging, and the set includes a 22.5W charger. The POCO M3 battery has been designed so that even at high temperatures, it can operate for more than 2.5 years without noticeable loss of service life. The phone measures 162.3x77.3x9.6 mm and weighs 198 g.
What cameras does POCO M3 have?
The phone is cheap, so we cannot expect too much from a camera. Still, it's not bad. We will get a main matrix of 48 Mpx in the size of 1/2" with pixels of 0.8 micrometers, with an aperture of f 1.79, as well as two 2-megapixel cameras with f/2.4 apertures for macro and background blurring. The package will be complemented by an 8-megapixel selfie camera with f/2.05 aperture.

POCO M3 has stereo speakers!
On the side of POCO M3 there is a fingerprint reader, and the equipment of the smartphone also includes an IR transmitter, an FM radio and a mini-jack. Although it’s rare in this price segment, POCO M3 also has dual self-cleaning speakers, and as a curiosity - a voice modulator. The device uses the MIUI 12 interface for POCO, based on the Android 10 system, enriched with the Game Booster function, improving performance.

As you can see, POCO clearly decided to "sweep" the Polish market of the cheapest medium-sized and more expensive budget phones. POCO M3 has a few weaknesses, but in other respects it can actually outperform rivals and become an extremely popular device.
