Motorola Moto G 5G and Moto G9 Power

The Motorola Moto G smartphone family has grown today by two models: Moto G 5G and Moto G9 Power. How much do they cost and what do they offer?

Motorola Moto G 5G

Motorola Moto G 5G is of course a more expensive and advanced model. The smartphone allows communication in 5G networks and uses the Snapdragon 750G processor, supported by 4 or 6 GB of RAM and 64 or 128 GB of flash memory, of course expandable with a microSD card. The smartphone received a 6.7-inch Max Vision LTPS Full HD+ display, with HDR10 support and a small, centered hole for a 16-megapixel selfie camera with f/2.2 aperture and Quad Pixel pixel merging function. The main camera is triple.

It is made up of the main module with a 48 Mpx matrix, Quad Pixel and PDAF and an f/1.7 aperture, supported by a 2 Mpx, f/2.4 background blurring camera. Between them there is also an 8 Mpx camera with a wide-angle lens with a field of view of 118 degrees and an aperture of f/2.2. The camera is equipped with a modernized, improved application. The smartphone has NFC and all other necessary communication modules, and it is powered by a 5000 mAh battery with 20 W fast charging. Of course, there is also a fingerprint reader and a dedicated key to use the Google Assistant. The European price of Moto G 5G in the 4+64 GB version is EUR 300. The 6+128 GB version was priced at EUR 330.

Motorola Moto G9 Power

Motorola Moto G9 Power is definitely a simpler and cheaper design, but - as the name suggests - endowed with an above-average battery. The battery of this model has a capacity of 6000 mAh and can be charged with a power of 20 W. The smartphone received a 6.8-inch HD+ display with a corner opening for a 16-megapixel camera with f/2.2 aperture. The rear camera has a basic 64 Mpx matrix with an f/1.8 lens and two additional 2 Mpx, f/2.4 matrices - for macro and background blurring. The heart of this smartphone is the Snapdragon 662 processor, supported by 4 GB of RAM and 128 GB flash memory, of course with the option of using a microSD card in a hybrid slot. Just like the model described earlier, Moto G9 Power has a plastic housing and a hydrophobic coating that protects the interior in the event of a slight wetness. The price in Europe is EUR 200.

Almost pure Android

Both new Motorolas use the Android 10 system with the proprietary interface overlay from Motorola. This interface is called MyUX and it is very close to the clean Android interface. It does not contain any unnecessary applications, it is simple and lightweight. Interface additions are limited to basic personalization functions (wallpapers, icons, themes, etc.) and several useful functions - such as gestures to turn on the flashlight or camera.
