Oppo is working on its own processor

Samsung, Huawei and Apple have their own processors. Time for the next big player: Oppo is working on the Oppo M1 chip.

How is this known? From the documentation of the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO - European Union Intellectual Property Office). The Chinese company has registered the trademark "Oppo M1" there. The application is described by keywords: Chips [integrated circuits]; Semiconductor chips; Computer chips; Multiprocessor chips; Electronic chips for the manufacture of integrated circuits; Biochips; Smartphones; Cell phones; Screens. There is therefore no doubt as to the name claimed.

Unfortunately, we don't know anything about the layout yet. We can suspect that it will be octa-core and rather medium-shelf. M1 will debut in 2020, probably at the upcoming MWC - in February in Barcelona or in June in Shanghai. For now, there are rumours that Oppo has employed former engineers from Speadtrum and MediaTek - but the manufacturer himself is still silent on this topic.
